New Wrinkles Journal: Interlude #1

The other day during our New Wrinkles Zoom gathering David was sharing with us how therapeutic it has been to get outside, take a walk, breathe fresh air, see the beauties of nature.  At one point he used the phrase, “so many shades of green; so many shades of blue,” and I immediately thought, “there’s a poem (a song) in that.”  So, I wrote the following, inspired by that phrase.  I hope it touches a good place in your soul.

SO MANY SHADES OF SPLENDOR

You have eyes and ears

To see and hear

The world that is around you

Flowers and trees and birds and bees

Dancing

Like every other day

Colors so bright, so beautiful

The splendor

Takes your breath away

So many shades of green

So many shades of blue

Bursts of color everywhere

In the sky

In the garden

In your eyes

Faces to greet us

Smiles to warm us

So many shades of you and me

So many hearts and hands to hold

To set our spirits free

And the dance,

The dance of life goes on

In our minds

In our hearts

In our homes

The dance,

The dance of love, our song

Arises

Surrounds us

We are not alone
