Common Life

My world

Surrounded by other worlds

Everybody else’s world

Their worlds

Like but not like my world

Common ground

seems smaller every day

Common home

a world to see, to save

Common hope

something new,

what some call normal

never was, never will be

Common love

one heart

beating a rhythm

toward

Common destiny

My world, your world

Sharing moments

On our way to

Common LIFE

  1. I like this; it’s really good when you find common ground with someone — and maintain it 🙂

    • Thank you, John. Yes, and the maintaining can sometimes be the tough part… but it can also be the most delightful part! 🙂

  2. This is a beauty!

    • Thank you, triple-p!

  3. Hey, B!

I like this!! I am not sure why, but this reminded me of when I was a child in private school. It was a Catholic school and there was this one song we sang in the morning this one year, and I don’t remember any of it expect this one part. It has always stuck with me.

‘The will know we are Christians by our love’. Somehow your poem reminds me of that…I didn’t understand it at the time, but I knew it was true and important…and I think it looks a lot like this!

    P

    • Yes, I sang that song a lot back in the day, too. “We are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord, we are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord, and we pray that all unity will one day be restored, and they’ll know we are christians by our love, by our love, and they’ll know we are christians by our love.”

      wooHOO!

  4. *They will know

  5. Thanks for sharing, brother.
